The Beauty of Broken Things

“How did you become so fearless?”

“Do you have a vase? Think you have one. Antique. Beautiful. Expensive. But you are bored with it, and you want to do something new with it. But it’s not easy. Why? Because you fear losing it. Because you’re afraid—what if something happens to your vase?

But suppose someday it breaks. Then you’ll have only broken pieces of it. It won’t look so beautiful anymore. It’ll be nothing more than scrap. And then, you’ll have no fear of doing anything with it. It’s useless now, but you can recreate it with those broken pieces. And perhaps the new one will look even more beautiful than the old one.

So that broken vase was me. And still is. Scrap and waste. I have no fear of losing anything because I have nothing to lose. But I know I can rebuild myself from those broken pieces. I can make myself more beautiful and stronger than before. And that’s how I became fearless.”

From the example of the vase, I want to tell you that there are two types of people in this world. People who have never failed at something are afraid to try something new. But those who have failed at some point in their lives eventually become fearless.

  4. An ordinary vase may break into tiny pieces..but those tiny pieces put together tastefully can become a work of art ☺️

  5. Beautifully illustrated with an example of vase, I guess the process of recreating ourselves with true commitnents results into a better outcomes as we were earlier in past & the fear of failure dissolves because rebuilding always begins from scrap.
    Keep writing!!📝👍
