
Remember when you were happy? Everything in your life was going well. You never anticipated that things could turn upside down and bring you to this point. When everything was great, you didn’t give much thought to people, relationships, decisions, or beliefs. But now that you’re not as happy, all you seem to do is think. The life that once seemed perfect now feels full of faults and flaws. You’re seeking every minor reason to abandon this life, having lost trust in everything and everyone.
But this is how life works—in phases. It’s not a bad life, it’s just a bad phase.
We often don’t realise this until we wake up one day in the midst of it, wondering how we arrived here. How could our life have flipped upside down overnight? Then we start to ponder, realising that nothing happened instantly. There were signs from the beginning, but we were too engrossed in our happiness to notice.
It’s human nature not to dwell on happiness or appreciate it fully. But in unhappiness, we replay our woes endlessly, diving deep into our sadness, wondering how much worse it could get.
Yet, there’s a common thread between these phases: when we’re in one, the other seems impossible. When we’re happy, we don’t consider what could go wrong. When we’re sad, it feels like we’ll never experience happiness again.
However, the reality is that life is cyclical. It may take time, but one phase eventually gives way to another.
