Maturity Is Clarity

,

I’m writing this at the age of 21, and I’m happy to say this out loud.

When we’re born, we have two kinds of relationships. The first are blood relations—the people connected to us by birth. The second are the ones we create as we grow.

Every relationship matters, especially when we’re still learning about life. But as we mature, we begin to understand something important: not everyone feels for us the way we feel for them. People change with time, with circumstances—some for good, others not so much.

That’s the bitter truth about relationships a reality everyone faces at some point. And sometimes, it’s our own blood that breaks us the most.

So, take your time with people. Observe them. Let them reveal who they really are before you decide how much of yourself to give. You might not end up with many people in your life, but the ones who stay—who love, care, and can be trusted—are enough. What could be better than that?

I know what you might be thinking: “Who thinks this much? Just go with the flow.” But that attitude can lead to painful mistakes.

Life isn’t a roller coaster; you just ride along. If you want quality, you need clarity. When you’re sorted in your thoughts, you face fewer problems. So, take the time to understand yourself and the people around you. We don’t have as much time to waste as we think we do.

And remember, maturity isn’t about age. It’s about awareness. It’s about knowing what’s right for you and having the strength to choose it. Relationships are deeply emotional parts of life, but sometimes, maturity means making difficult decisions.

I hope you never have to face such moments, but if you do, choose carefully, and choose yourself.

  7. You’re so right! Change is the only constant thing so even if people change, I think we must work it out together, because the core of a person remains, more or less, the same. So talking to our friend or partner about it, and understanding their reasons is what will make it work. 🙌
