I have two pieces of news for you — one bad, one good.
The bad news: there’s only one real problem in your life, the root of them all, you.
The good news: there’s also only one solution, and it’s you.
You own your life.
Maybe you’ve forgotten that while sharing it with others. Maybe you’ve started to believe that your life belongs to other people too, that you’re just another person in your own story, like a guest in your own house.
But you’re not.
And no matter how much people love you, care for you, or want to protect you, they can’t live your life for you. They can’t fix your problems. They shouldn’t. Because even if they could, it would only be temporary. Problems never end; they just change shape.
Nobody is responsible for your actions, emotions, or decisions — and the same goes the other way around. I once read in a book: “A healthy relationship is when two people solve their own problems, so they can feel good about each other.”
If you want healthy relationships, work on your life and let others do the same.
I said you are the problem because everything that happens in your life happens because you allow it. Even when others hurt or affect you, it’s because you gave them space to.
And you are also the solution because no matter who stands beside you, at the end of the day, it’s still your life. Only you can change it.
Life will always be full of problems; that’s inevitable. But the good part is, you can choose your problems. You can decide which ones are worth your time, because you always have choices. There are many ways to do one thing, and you get to choose your way.
I don’t know why people get so stubborn about things. Nothing is certain except you. You’re the one who stays. And as long as you have yourself, you can conquer anything.
Sometimes we want something so badly that, in chasing it, we lose ourselves, and by the time we finally get it, it doesn’t even feel worth it anymore.
What I believe is this: we should enjoy the process, not just the result. The process is what shapes us; the result is just a moment. And if you can’t find joy in the process, you’ll never be able to enjoy the result; you might not even reach it.
So, make your choices wisely. Because your choices become your problems, and your problems are what you’ll spend your life solving.
