The Lost Morning

It’s a beautiful, cloudy morning. It’s only 5:45 a.m., and we’re already on our way to coaching class.

We laugh at our stupid jokes, trying to catch up with each other’s cycles. This is my favourite time of the day—a quiet road, soft air, and my best friend, Noor, beside me.

We play silly games like kids. Noor warns me to slow down, but as always, I lose my balance and fall onto the road.

“Kanak!” Noor shouts behind me.

And I wake up.

I look around my room. It was a dream. Again, that dream. I never thought all of this would one day become just a dream, a beautiful morning dream that would never come true.
