The Strangers They Became

For a long time now, I’ve been hearing noises—noises of half-gone people. People who aren’t here anymore, but whose voices, memories, and behavior still echo around me like footprints that never washed away.

I let them go. Yes, I did.

I don’t want them back—there’s no space for them in my life anymore.

Do they even exist? Like I care.

But still… just once, it would’ve been nice if they had given me a reason. A little clarity. Because I never understood what happened. One moment we were good, and the next—BOOM—everything changed. And I kept wondering which version of them was real.

Sometimes, people don’t change for the better or worse. They just change.

In a fraction of a second, they become someone else.

Or maybe they reveal a version of themselves we never wanted to see.

And that’s how they become strangers.

  1. When I read the title, I was scared of reading this thinking it must be something about ghosts or paranormal, but it’s actually scarier. 👍
