When Love Feels Powerless

My heart aches whenever I think about you. It feels like a ship sinking in the ocean, and I’m watching it from afar, helpless. My mind runs in every direction, desperately looking for a way to make your life a little less painful.

I want to do something—anything—for you. Even the smallest thing that could put a smile on your face and ease your pain, even if just for a moment. But deep down, I know these little things won’t fix everything. I know how hard you try to stay strong and pretend to be okay. But I also know the truth—that you’re broken on the inside. And that truth breaks my heart into pieces.

I want the best for you. I wish for a miracle that can make your life okay again. I want happiness to find you. And when I see you in pain, I feel like throwing away every bit of my own happiness, because how can I enjoy life when you’re drowning in sadness?

Maybe it’s my fault. Maybe I haven’t done enough. Maybe I could have done more.

From the beginning, I only wanted to protect you. But now, you’re suffering, and I’m just standing here, powerless. And that, I think, is the misery of love. That even after loving someone so deeply, you can’t take away their pain. You can’t fight their battles. You can’t live their life for them.

Because that’s how life works. No matter how close we are, there are paths we must walk alone. Even when we’re surrounded by love, we still have to face our demons ourselves.

But I hope you never forget this—you are not alone.

I may not be able to fix your life, but I’m here. Whenever you fall, I’ll be there to hold you. Whenever you feel like you’re drowning, I’ll be the shore you can swim to. I’ll hold your hand and never let you disappear in this chaotic world.

I can’t save you from your pain. But I promise, I will never let you face it alone.

  6. This poem is incredibly beautiful and heartfelt. It resonates deeply with me, as it expresses profound emotions and captures the essence of love and empathy. Reading it evokes a unique sense of connection because it articulates your feelings for your loved one and your own sense of helplessness. You have beautifully conveyed your admiration, affection, and compassion. I am moved by your vulnerability and can empathize with your sense of inadequacy.
